Montalcino DOCG

Deep ruby red in colour with garnet highlights, it opens with hints of wild berries such as blackberry, blackcurrant and blueberry, followed by liquorice, spices and intense balsamic notes. The tannins are well defined and the finish is long with extraordinary aromatic persistence. It is a wine of great concentration and structure, which amazes the palate with its intensity, elegance and great balance.

Perfect to drink now, improves with time up to 20 years

Brunello di Montalcino Riserva San Polo is only produced in exceptional years. In the first days of the harvest, the grapes (100% Sangiovese) destined for the production of the Riserva are carefully monitored in order to reach optimal ripeness. Ideal with a Florentine steak, dishes based on chickens, lamb, suckling pig, game and, among cheeses, those with a long maturation period such as Pecorino Toscano DOP Stagionato and Riserva. San Polo is situated on the south-eastern slope of Montalcino hill, at an altitude of 450 metres, the 22 hectares of the estate, 16 of which are planted with Sangiovese, are characterized by a dry, breezy microclimate, with wide diurnal and seasonal temperature swings. In the cellar, an admirable example of bio-architecture, designed to minimize energy consumption and environmental impact, the grapes are processed with artisan care to enhance the finesse of the Sangiovese aromas. The essence of San Polo, in fact, is to take the wines back to the vineyard that generated them, so as to express the concept of terroir to the full. Man’s intervention is nothing more than bringing the wine closer to nature, adopting a viticulture that respects the soil, the microclimate and the biodiversity of the place, so that the biological cycle of the vineyard and the pedoclimatic context are in perfect harmony.

After the order we prepare it in 24-48 hours and shipping within Europe usually takes 3 to 5 days if all products are available.

If a product is listed in the cart as “Available on backorder” the timing increases by 48h because we have to receive it from the manufacturer itself.

Our priority is to pack and ship the products as safely as possible. Wine and oil bottles are shipped with special cardboard protections, there will be no breakages.

All cold cuts and cheeses are vacuum sealed. In summer we also use dry ice and coolers to keep products fresh and their quality intact.
