Montalcino DOCG

Intense ruby red in colour with garnet highlights, the nose reveals great complexity: notes of plum, ripe cherry and small red fruits are accompanied by hints of violet, aromatic wood and balsamic scents. In the mouth it is warm, dense and full-bodied, with a long finish and well-defined tannins.

Perfect to drink now, improves with time up to 20 years

Brunello di Montalcino San Polo, a red wine of great power and elegance, is the highest expression of Sangiovese (100%), which in Montalcino is tinged with a “brown” color, loaded with unique and intense aromas and scents. Counted among the best known, most appreciated and longest-lived wines in the world, it is an icon of Italian enology and a symbol of excellence. In San Polo, on the Allegrini estate, Brunello is the fruit of boundless love for the nature of these lands and of an ethical choice that skilfully combines quality and sustainability. San Polo is situated on the south-eastern slope of Montalcino hill, at an altitude of 450 metres, the 22 hectares of the estate, 16 of which are planted with Sangiovese, are characterized by a dry, breezy microclimate, with wide diurnal and seasonal temperature swings. In the cellar, an admirable example of bio-architecture, designed to minimize energy consumption and environmental impact, the grapes are processed with artisan care to enhance the finesse of the Sangiovese aromas. The essence of San Polo, in fact, is to take the wines back to the vineyard that generated them, so as to express the concept of terroir to the full. Man’s intervention is nothing more than bringing the wine closer to nature, adopting a viticulture that respects the soil, the microclimate and the biodiversity of the place, so that the biological cycle of the vineyard and the pedoclimatic context are in perfect harmony.

After the order we prepare it in 24-48 hours and shipping within Europe usually takes 3 to 5 days if all products are available.

If a product is listed in the cart as “Available on backorder” the timing increases by 48h because we have to receive it from the manufacturer itself.

Our priority is to pack and ship the products as safely as possible. Wine and oil bottles are shipped with special cardboard protections, there will be no breakages.

All cold cuts and cheeses are vacuum sealed. In summer we also use dry ice and coolers to keep products fresh and their quality intact.
