Toen de distilleerderij van Nannoni Grappe werd opgericht, bestond de distilleercultuur in Toscane nog niet; de 'marc' werd vooral weggegooid en de grappa die in de regio werd geproduceerd, was bestemd voor groothandel in Noord-Italië. Dankzij het werk van Priscilla Occhipinti, de enige vrouwelijke meester-distilleerder ter wereld, heeft Nannoni Grappe zich in de loop der jaren gevestigd als de beste producent van gedistilleerde dranken ter wereld. Nannoni Grappe heeft namelijk talloze onderscheidingen gewonnen, 144 gouden medailles in 9 jaar; we kunnen zeggen dat het de meest bekroonde producent is.
