The first vintage of the 50&50 was 1988: during a jovial dinner, the owners of the two cellars began to compare their wines and obtained this exceptional blend of 50% Sangiovese di Capannelle and 50% Merlot di Avignonesi. The producer, Avignonesi extend in the Montepulciano and Cortona areas (in the Val di Chiana in the province of Arezzo) ensuring a diversified spectrum of soils that allows the production of a Vino Nobile di Montepulciano that authentically expresses the complexity of the terroir, while the Val di Chiana is suitable for the cultivation of other grape varieties such as Merlot, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
