Olio Abbraccio was born in Seggiano, on the slopes of Monte Amiata, a small medieval village of about 1,000 people, but surrounded by centuries-old olive trees. Ombra Blu Sassotondo, Tasting notes:
Ruby in colour, very consistent. The nose reveals notes of small red fruits, cedar and black pepper. The taste is concentrated and soft, very long but not heavy. *
The grapes are harvested and selected by hand and vinified separately. Fermentation takes place without the addition of yeast and lasts, including maceration, between 25 and 30 days. The wines mature for 12 months partly in barriques and partly in steel. Subsequently blended and bottled, the wine is aged for a minimum of 6 months in the bottle.
