ISOLE e OLENA is located in the centre of Chianti , on the western slope halfway between the historic cities of Florence and Siena . All wines are produced with only grapes from its own 56 hectares of vineyards, owned by the De Marchi family since 1956 and managed by Paolo De Marchi since 1976. Thanks to this work, Isole e Olena is recognised as a pride of Chianti Classico that has contributed to bringing out the qualities of a unique territory worldwide.

Castello di Monsanto
There are two places at Castello di Monsanto that capture every visitor for the charm and the magic that is perceived: the Poggio’s hill and the historic cellar. Being able to transmit at least a tenth of the emotions you experience visiting the Monsanto winery is very difficult. The aromas, the echoes, the silences, the layers of noble molds make it a unique place that deserves at least one visit. The company has its origin from here. So from a climb on the Poggio and from a descent into the cellar, the idea of making a Cru in Chianti Classico was born for the first time. It was 1962 when the first 6,000 bottles of the Chianti Classico Riserva Il Poggio were produced. Of the 72 hectares planted with vineyards, between 260 and 310 meters s.l.m., 56 ha are in Sangiovese, the vine in which the company has deeply believed from the beginning. The Sangiovese clones present in the vineyards come from a mass selection of vines found in the vineyard Il Poggio, “the mother” of all the vineyards of Monsanto. In a small percentage are then present the two historical vines of the Chianti Classico vine: Canaiolo and Colorino.

Renzo Marinai's estate is named after the nearby ancient church of San Martino. Renzo Marinai himself took over the estate in 1996 and, with the support of oenologist Giovanni Cappelli, completely reorganised its operations, converting it into an entirely organic farm. The estate covers about 33 hectares; just over eight are planted with vines. The terrain is undulating, rising and falling between 350 and 500 metres above sea level. The soil is marly, perfect for Sangiovese, allowing good drainage and the development of deep roots.

Tenuta Gardini is a bond of love and passion that their family has had with this territory, through the centuries and generations. The olive tree is the tree that represents the essence of spiritual life, the longevity of thought; the olive tree is the force that passes through time; its veins are the symbol of life, lived with intensity and passion. The olive tree is the tree with the fundamental fruit. Their olive oil comes mainly from centenarian trees that are located on the sunny hill. The olive harvest begins in November where it is harvested by hand and the pressing of the olives is carried out cold and on the same day in the company’s oil mill.

Scovaventi
Podere Scovaventi was founded by Luca De Filippo and Carolina Rosi, who used to come here to retreat and regenerate in the breaks between theatre tours.
Having fallen in love with the countryside, expert gourmets, Carolina and Luca slowly began to restore the farmhouse, improve the soil and prepare preserves with the many products the garden offered them.
In 2015, they acquire olive groves in the vicinity of the company with other native varieties, thus taking production from family consumption to external distribution. In the same 2015, however, Luca passed away and Carolina decided to pursue this dream alone.
The company creates many varieties of products in its territory, pickles, jams, honeys and many others; the quality of these products comes from tradition and love for the land and its fruits.

Antonio Camillo’s wine cellar is located not far from Capalbio with vineyards extending over about nine hectares. They are mainly composed of old vines, between 40 and 50 years old. The varieties cultivated are obviously Ciliegiolo, with a small percentage destined for Vermentino and Sangiovese. Traditional working methods are followed between the rows, favouring manual operations and limiting interventions for health defence, using exclusively natural products such as copper and sulphur. Scents of Red Fruits, mostly Cherry Warm and Soft, with a good Structure. Amazing pair with Tuscan salami and white meats, also with fish soups. Cilegiolo from the vineyards of Sovana and Pitigliano. The oldest vineyards, in Pitigliano, were planted in the 1960s while in Sovana the ciliegiolo comes from vineyards that derive from a massal selection of the oldest vines and were planted between 1995 and 2003. The grapes are harvested and selected by hand. Fermentation takes place without the addition of yeasts and lasts, including maceration, between 15 and 20 days. It matures for a few months in steel.

Their story begins on a small farm in the Tuscan countryside, surrounded by cypress trees and very close to the town of Pienza.
At the end of the 1960s, a young man, Alfiero, moved away from this farm. In search of better fortune, he came to a small town, Torrita di Siena, then the centre of fashionable and commercial life in the area, with well-established activities and a rich and prosperous population, In this town he took over a small butcher's shop and since then everything that followed is the story of a life dedicated to work and the search for the best, where by best is meant good. His experiences at the Pienza farm, in fact, helped him recreate the ancient flavours of the Tuscan peasant tradition, to offer his customers the best in terms of genuineness and tastiness.
The small butcher's shop expanded to become a small charcuterie where these ancient family recipes were revived.
After several family members joined the company, a dream came true: the opening of a large butcher's shop with a charcuterie and ham factory attached just outside the 14th-century walls of Torrita.
