Le Macchiole

Founded in the early 1980s, Le Macchiole is one of the historical realities of Bolgheri, and has become over time an absolute reference point for quality Tuscan wine. The project was realised thanks to Eugenio Campolmi and Cinzia Merli, among the pioneers of the area, through their original vision of a vocated territory still at the dawn of its stylistic definition. It was their action, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, with the creation of wines that have become symbolic for their character and personality, that contributed to Bolgheri’s fame. Le Macchiole proves to be a constantly evolving reality thanks to a contemporary interpretation of wine and its terroir. The choice of organic and sustainable agriculture together with its authenticity demonstrates how this winery manages to have a historic yet innovative face, making it a protagonist of both the past and present of its land
